Andy sent us this one of his bike...

"I'm an old chopper rider myself. This is a shot of a friend of mine and me in about 1970 in Griffith Park in LA. The candyapple bike is mine. I built and rebuilt it several times. When I got to California I had straight upsweeps with salami-cut tips, but the CHP made me put mufflers on it.

Bikes are great! Every year I go to the start of the Love Ride to shoot bike pictures. Once I got a shot of Jay Leno on a 1931 Excelsior 4-cylinder. "

WEBMASTERS NOTE:
Andy is a photographer......an awesome one......check out his site.....MUST be 18 or older to enter!!

Here's our latest addition to our PICS page!! Basic Bob has been ridin' for MANY years. His claim to fame is that he has rode through EVERY state in the Union ON his bike......Widow Maker..........never trailered!!! Even shipped it to Hawaii to ride the Islands there!! Here's his map....HERE. He even wrote an ode to 'er!! Check it out. He had a bad accident and has not been able to do the long runs anymore but he still makes short putts. Not too mention that he found another outlet for that frustration....you HAVE got to see his creations!! They are BADASS!! He is listed on our links page too, but you can see his work here.......Knuckleheads Replicas and Scooter Art

Basic Bob strikes again!!

From Left to Right, 1939, Knucklehead, 1968 PO-Lice Special. Named "Trooper Glide", next a '72 Shovelhead "Widowmaker", and Last but not least , My very First NEW Harley, '87 FLHTC. I called it "C.C.Glider".(that stood for CONSPICUOUS CONSUMPTION) It cost, $10,400, OUT the Door. That was ALOT Then. The OK Corral, needs help an' the Barn needs Paint. But the BIKES are Lookin' Great!.....Priorities!

Keep Smilin',

Basic

(NOTE) His nephew wrote a poem after Basic Bob had a very bad bike accident. We thought it was worthy of showing.........

My Nephew Steven Paul, wrote this Rhyme for me.
After my latest Crash!!
He Sez:::The more I think about it, I'm sure am glad we're Stevens'.
A crash like that, could'a kilt a Ordinary Person.
This is for you............Uncle Bob

                       ROAD REFLECTIONS           By Steve Stevens

Now what if I had never felt the wind blow in my hair.
Just think of all the Broken Bones and Stitches I'd been spared.
And think of all the money spent, to get myself repaired,
I'd still have, if I hadn't felt the wind blow in my hair.

But think of all the people that I never would have met,
The places of God's Beauty that I never will forget,
The memories I treasure of the friendships rich and rare,
If long ago I had not felt the wind blow in my hair.

So some folks think I'm crazy and you know they may be right,
But dreams of things I didn't do don't haunt me in the night.
Imagine roads you've never seen and guess what,
I've BEEN THERE.
I pity those who never felt the wind blow in their hair.
